Leeland
An early start in music with his family touring the country gave Leeland Mooring his passion for songwriting and full-time ministry. Years later the band Leeland formed with the joining of Jack Mooring (Keyboards/Vox), Jake Holtz (Bass), Jeremiah Wood (lead guitar), and Mike Smith (drums). Leeland’s music exemplifies the exciting elements of alternative rock as they seek to dive in and match heart changing lyrics with soaring anthems of majestic melodies. Leeland collected its first GRAMMY nomination in the category of Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for their debut album, Sound of Melodies, which was released in August 2006. In addition they were named CCM Magazine’s “Debut of the Year” and Christian Music Today’s “Best New Artist” in the 2006 Readers’ Choice Awards.www.leelandonline.com
